We have put in a request for an opinion from the planners about whether we will need to supply an Environmental Impact Assesment when we put in our Planning Application to restore the remaining section of canal within the Chesterfield Borough Council boundary, ie. between Eckington Road Bridge and Hague Lane.
This is not a Planning Application.
It does not require comments to be made.
We just want to keep everybody aware of what is happening in the restoration process.
You can download all the documents by clicking here. We think that these demonstrate the vast amount of preparatory work that has to be done before any physical works actually take place.
In normal times, we would get a response very soon, but clearly things are very strange at present. Even when we do get a response, it will not be possible to submit the planning application straight away because a few pieces are missing and can not be accessed under the present lockdown.
