Shopping
For anyone visiting the area by boat, we have listed a few places where you can stock up on basic provisions.
Inclusion in this list does not indicate an endorsement by the Trust.
Misterton – There’s a Co-op and a local butcher in Misterton village.
Retford – Retford is a bustling market town so there are plenty of small and large, local and chain stores. There’s an ASDA two minutes walk from Town Lock, an Aldi about five minutes and a Morrisions about 15 minutes away.
Worksop – Worksop is also a market town with an excellent choice of shops. There’s an ASDA five minutes walk and a Sainsbury’s ten minutes walk from Stret Lock, number 48.
Shireoaks – There’s a small Spar and a butcher in Shireoaks a few minutes walk up from the marina by Shireoaks Bridge, number 38.
Kiveton – There are several shops and a reasonable-sized Co-op in Kiveton which is a couple of miles from the moorings. Depending on train times, it’s a one-station hop from Kiveton Park to Kiveton Bridge where the shops are.
