For many years, the Trust has talked about the Rother Valley Link, indeed it is one of our aims to see it built.
This is a plan to join the Chesterfield Canal at Killamarsh to the River Don (South Yorkshire Navigation) at Rotherham.
It would create a connection to the rest of the Waterways System without negotiating the River Trent.
It would also create a cruising ring of the Chesterfield Canal, River Rother, River Don Navigation, Stainforth & Keadby Canal and the River Trent.
Click here to see a map of the route. N.B. This is an old map so still has Orgreave, not Waverley, does not mark the New York Stadium etc.
