It is with enormous sorrow that we must report the passing away of Pete Ramsell.
Pete died peacefully at home on Monday 3rd December.
Our thoughts are with Vicki, and Pete’s mother.
There will be a full appreciation in the next Cuckoo.
Pete joined the Trust in 2003. He started by running the old Norwood Packet tripboat. He was our Treasurer for a time. He oversaw the building, fitting out and successful launch of Seth Ellis, our Retford-based tripboat. He helped Vicki to run the Seth Ellis for seven years, finally handing over this April. He oversaw the fitting out of Python, our historic working boat and organised its summer tours. On top of all of this, he was also a Trustee.
He will be greatly missed by the Seth Ellis crew, the Pythoneers, the Trustees and his dozens of friends and acquaintances in the boating world.
The funeral was held on Monday 17th December at Brimington Crematorium.
