This is your chance to get involved in a citizen science survey of mammals that live in or near water.
You can use the Mammal Society’s Mammal Mapper app to monitor the wildlife on your doorstep by walking 600m along a waterway (canal, river, lake etc.) and recording the species seen on the app.
The data collected from this project will increase the Mammal Society’s knowledge of the number of individuals in an area because many waterways across the UK have not been surveyed. You should be looking for animals and their signs (such as footprints, burrows, and spraints) along the survey.
