Lee Rowley is the MP for North East Derbyshire.
He asked for assurance from the Secretary of State for Transport that HS2 would not stop barges from being able to pass underneath its line. He was referring to the line to the Infrastructure Maintenance Depot at Lowgates.
The Secretary of State replied that he could give that assurance.

This was the second question this year. You may remember Toby Perkins MP for Chesterfield asked about this in April, click here.
We are hugely grateful to our MPs for this support.

It is the excavated bridge in the middle distance over which the HS2 line will pass.
