The towpath works on the Derbyshire section have now been finished and what a magnificent job the contractors have made of it.
From this …………….. to this.
A big Thank You is due to Derbyshire County Council which owns and manages this five mile stretch of canal. Added to the works now completed at Mill Green and Staveley Town Basin, plus the towpath improvements done last year, it is now a superb route.
An added bonus is that mobility scooters can now get through from Hollingwood to Staveley.

There is even tarmac down at Hollingwood Hub to complement our new cycle racks and memorial bench.
