23rd December 2015

You may remember the last time we saw Denis, our Digger, on these pages.

The following day, it was whisked away to its Fairy Godmother (Photo by Ken Cummings), namely

who had been impressed by the incredible efforts of our Work Party at Staveley Town Basin and offered to repair Denis at very favourable rates, sponsoring some parts. Almost all the rest of the bill has been met by an anonymous supporter.

This morning Denis was loaded onto a transporter (Photo by Andy Bell) …..

….. arriving at Staveley Town Basin in glorious sunshine.

Dave was soon inspecting the work …..

….. and was delighted by the new track.

The arm had been painted and a new ram fitted.

There were new teeth on the bucket.

A new hydraulic pump.

New hydraulic pipes.

There was even a new mat in the cabin.

Dave had been dreaming about this moment for five weeks.

It works!

We are incredibly grateful to TCH/JCB for their support.
