The Chesterfield Canal grew by 200m on Thursday August 11th.
This was the scene from Mill Green Bridge in July.
This is in August. As you can see, the dam in the middle distance has been removed.
Earlier in the week, they had let a bit of water through the dam.
Then they dug out the whole lot.
This is the new dam. Staveley Town Basin is under the bridge in the centre top.
