Python is back on our canal

This is becoming a saga. It started on

15th October 2015

Python is on its way back to our canal.

For those of you who have no idea who or what Python is; you can start by clicking here.

In short, Python is our historic ex-BW working boat, now well past 80 years old. It has been laid up for two years. After endless trials & tribulations, heartaches & false dawns and thanks to lots of help from various organisations and, especially, our Pythoneers, it is now waterproof and canal & river worthy.

After tootling down the Trent, it is due to arrive at West Stockwith on Saturday17th. It will then return to its base at Shireoaks, where the Pythoneeers will fit it out internally.

Taken last week – back in the water for the first time in over 24 months.

Update 16th October

Python is now expected to arrive at West Stockwith at about 2.30 p.m. on Saturday 17th. Photos on the tidal Trent further down.

This photo was timed at 2.28 p.m. This surely means that Richard Allsopp deserves a coconut, given that the arrival time of 2.30 (see above) was his estimate.
