30th May 2011
Well all I can say is that it rained! A lot, on the Pythoneers but this time it included two new members. Today brought the return of Phoenix and her crew Mick, Branson and of course Toby the dog. They were joined by Pete as an extra crew.
Today’s leg of the journey was from the BW Yard all the way to The Hop Pole Pub. With the addition of Phoenix, we on Python were always playing catch up as they were out in front.
With all the rain that we had, and trust me it poured, Richard Allsopp did well to stay at helm along with help from one of the new members Richard Chappell and me. Richard Chappell’s wife Helen also joined us to help with locking and keeping everybody in a cheery mood.

Helen said:
“It was the first time Richard and I had been on Python.
We were made to feel very welcome by everyone and enjoyed helping on the first leg of the journey to Stoke Bruerne.
It was a shame it was such a wet day. No one told us the sun wasn’t going to shine! Typical Bank Holiday weather!”

Eventually we got to The Hop Pole Pub where we moored and were met by Richard and Helen’s friends. We went for a well-earned drink and took it as a chance to dry off!
Even though the heavens really did open, all the ducks and swans and horses and sheep that we saw along the way made the day really enjoyable.
A even earlier start is planned for tomorrow but hopefully the sun will be out!
So stay tuned…
