McDonald’s Clean-Up
22nd June 2016 A group of over 30 employees from three local McDonald’s stores did a massive clean-up on the Chesterfield Canal on 21st June.

The Chesterfield Canal Trust’s new tripboat was officially named by the outgoing Police & Crime Commissioner for Derbyshire, Alan Charles, at Staveley Town Basin. It is called John Varley II. The new PCC, Hardyal Singh Dhindsa, also attended the event, which was held in pouring rain.

4th June 2016 Today was the start of Dawn Rose’s epic journey from Shireoaks to the River Trent and back. The first group were the Friends of Woodlands and Coachwood Green, plus a couple of volunteers from McDonald’s.

On Monday 30th May, following the Trailboat Festival, a flotilla of our five tripboats, Python and lots of the trailboats cruised from Staveley Town Basin towards Chesterfield.
